Art Rosch is a stylist, a pure original. His songs recall surrealist painters like Dali or Magritte, with their suggestive but never quite explicit clues to unconscious processes.The element of surprise is always present. This never interferes with the immediacy of emotional communication, the warmth and intimacy of Art's sound. He has surrounded himself with musicians who understand what he intends, and can further his musical vision. What's amazing is that all this sophisticated and funny lyrical content comes wrapped in a very funky, danceable package. It's difficult to chose a favorite song from this CD, but "Kosovo" is a piece that brings together beauty and tragedy in a way that is very rare. And for those who are experiencing the turmoil of psychotherapy, "My Diagnosis" is probably worth four or five sessions, at least. A great record. Five stars."
